VVG Joystick Controllers
Real Arcade VF / Hori HSS-09
In 1995, Hori released (exclusively in Japan) the Sega Saturn "Real Arcade VF" fight stick. Omitting the X, Y, Z, R, & L buttons found on standard Sega Saturn controllers, this stick had only one purpose... to provide a high quality, arcade-like joystick for the Saturn's port of Virtua Fighter.
The HSS-09 (and its alternate Saturn/Playstation variants) is very well suited as a donor for these custom VVG Joystick Controllers. The housing has removable steel top and bottom plates which can be easily machined for adding additional controls (or moving existing controls), and the placement of the joystick and push buttons are inboard and upward enough, to allow enough room for you to comfortably rest your wrists on its control panel while playing. Most candy cabinet controls will fit with only minor, or no modifications, but due to it's shallow depth, most "vintage" style arcade controls will not fit.
